Life Members
The Geelong Triathlon Club over the years has had many people contribute to the life of the club and more so triathlon in Geelong. Since 1984, when the club was established, the club has had tireless workers to make sure it runs smoothly. The club runs predominantly with volunteer help, so hard work, and time giving people are the life blood of the club. Life membership to the Geelong Triathlon Club is granted to those who have contributed a minimum of 5 years to the club and committee and a minimum of 5 years promoting and enhancing the sport of triathlon in the Geelong region. Below is a current list of people who have made significant contributions in either club support or performance.
Andrew Noseda
Andrew, along with wife Janine, served as the last President of the Geelong Triathlon Club, taking it up to and through a tumultuous time post 2004. Andrew assumed the role of President in 1999 and worked tirelessly for the club during this time, putting in many many hours at the helm, including organizing races and making significant financial contributions to keep the club running. Andrew is also a successful businessman operating the company LandLink in Geelong, has now expanded Nationally.
David Hansen
David is the founder of the Geelong Triathlon Club in its inception year in 1984. He has made significant contributions as a former athlete, and member. Most people would know David, as the owner and director of arguably Australia's most successful on-going race and event organization company - Supersprint. David and his group were the event organizers for the Sydney Olympic Triathlon in the year 2000. Currently still over-seeing Supersprint, they hold many great events around the country including Victoria's main Triathlon Series - The Gatorade Series, and of course the National BRW Triathlons.
Greg Stewart
Greg "stewy" Stewart is arguably the best triathlete, that has ever come from our region. During his time involved in the Geelong Triathlon Club, he had the following major title results to his name;

Greg also coached triathletes for over 20years, and in that time, was an Australian Team Selector for for 4 years, and a satellite coach for Victoria for the same. Those who know Greg, know he has an uncompromizing drive to be the best, and to this day remains one of the best masters road riders in the country.

Tony Stewart
Tony Stewart had long been involved in triathlon from his early days as a competitor where he obtained state and national level titles, to club coach, committee member, vice president and sponsor. During his time with the club Tony, helped support the club tremendously through not only himself, but also business in Geelong - The Athletes Foot in Market Square, which still operates today.
Rob Clark
Rob Clark was involved in the Geelong Triathlon Club from the 1994/1995 Season. Early on, his passion for the club started when he was taking his son to junior events, and then dipping his hand into a few himself. His tenure with the club, although short, was important, as he filled the secretary and treasurer roles for the next 3 years. Finishing up in 1998, when his son decided to have a break, he was awarded life membership.
Steve Bentley
Steve, making up one half of the 'Bentley's, was of the sports most dominant athletes in the late 80's and early 90's. A powerful bike rider, Steve went onto compete in numerous Ironman events placing highly in all, probably with a favoured event being the Japan Strongman. Locally he is known as much for his triathlon exploits as he is, for his past efforts for 24hr adventures and raising money for charity. Steve now works with the City of Greater Geelong and continues to remain fit and healthy.
