Geelong Triathlon Club

The famous Geelong Waterfront has been the scene to some of the worlds biggest and most prestigious triathlons since the mid 1980's and the Geelong Triathlon Club and the triathletes from the region are largely responsible for the growth of the sport not only in this town but also the country. Whilst technically not being the traditional berth place of the sport, Geelong triathletes such as Greg Stewart, Tim and Steve Bentley, Brett Ricchini gave the sport in Geelong a face and a grounding that gave rise to many athletes that have since come from the region. Hosting the world famous Tooheys Blue Triathlon Series, St George Series as part of "One Summer" and many National Championship and World standard events, Geelong has been and continues to be one of the most popular triathlon destinations in the world.
